Bookings are preferred online however telephone reservations can be taken but must be confirmed by way of deposit within 48 hour.
All bookings are subject to a 25% deposit
The booking deposit is non-refundable and shall be deducted from all hire charges..
Cancellations must be in writing, and are charged as follows:
Cancellation of a booking more than 6 weeks prior to commencement of hire will forfeit the booking deposit.
Cancellation of a booking 6 weeks - 4 weeks prior to hire: 50% of total hire charge
Cancellation within 4 weeks: 100% of hire charge
A “No show” : 100% of hire charge
A no show, is defined as the customer not presenting themselves to collect the motorhome on the first day of the rental period without agreeing with Home to Roam prior to this date that the vehicle will be collected at a later date/time within the hire period. Should the hire be deemed a no show the booking will be cancelled at the end of that business day. No refund will be given and the vehicle will be made available for re-hire
Commencement of hire is subject to satisfactory driver licencing and identification checks being carried out. Failure to produce a valid licence that is free from excluded endorsements or sufficient identity documents will result in cancellation of hire with no refund.
Home to Roam Ltd recommend that the hirer takes out cancellation insurance
Full payment is due, no later than 28 days prior to collection of vehicle
The damage excess of £750 can be paid either in advance or on collection of the vehicle and must be paid by debit/credit card in the name of the hirer. The deposit is fully refundable upon safe return of the vehicle on the agreed date and time
If you are to be late returning the vehicle, Home to Roam must be advised immediately. Insurance is only valid during the agreed hire period and failure to advise could result in prosecution for driving without insurance, in the event of an accident the hirer would further be liable for all costs as insurance would not be in force. Late returns will be charged at the rate of £50 per hour, or part hour.
We will make every effort to ensure that the reserved Motorhome is available. If, due to circumstances beyond our control, it is not possible to supply that Motorhome and an alternative or acceptable replacement is not available, our liability is limited to refund of moneys paid by you to Home to Roam Ltd, we cannot be held responsible for any other loss or expenses.
Our motorhomes are comprehensively insured for named drivers in the United Kingdom during the hire period only, as detailed on the booking form. Additional drivers can be added at an additional charge of £50 per person. European insurance and breakdown cover is available by advance arrangement and will incur a small fee upon agreement by our insurers, typically £15 per day. A refundable damage/excess deposit of £750 is payable upon vehicle pick-up, and must be made using a credit or debit card, unfortunately we cannot accept this deposit by pre pay cards, cheques or cash. In the event of an insurance claim, the full £750 will be taken to cover the full insurance excess of £750. Where the vehicle is returned undamaged with all equipment present and undamaged we aim to process deposit return within 24 hours however please allow upto 14 working days. Where the vehicle has been involved in an accident the deposit will be retained in full.
Every accident or any damage must be reported to Home To Roam immediately by telephone and an accident form will have to be completed at the time of the incident and at the end of the hire period. Any damage to tyres, Wing mirrors, windscreen and any theft of personal property is not covered by our insurance, and any such damage shall be at your expense. Home to Roam Ltd recommend that the hirer takes out their own personal belongings insurance. Driving by non-named drivers and undeclared late returns of Motorhomes renders the insurance invalid and the driver therefore commits an offence under the Road Traffic Act and will be solely responsible for any damages or personal injuries incurred. No monies can or will be refunded if an accident occurs in which the holiday has to be cancelled. Home to Roam cannot be held liable for this regardless of blame. In the event of any accident the hirers full deposit will be witheld in full until insurance claim has settled in full, where the claim is deemed non-fault the security deposit will be returned in full minus any other agreed deductions upon completion of the insurance claim.
Limitations & Liabilities
Home to Roam Ltd accepts no responsibility for replacement vehicle costs, travel or accommodation costs or any other loss claims arising from a Motorhome breakdown, accident or theft etc and strongly advises that hirers take out holiday insurance cover.
Is liable for any cost incurred for speeding or parking fines, congestion charges or any other offences committed against the Road Traffic Act Regulations
Undertakes reasonable steps to properly maintain the vehicle, including checking oil, coolant and adblue (where applicable) levels along with tyre pressures
Is liable for all overhead damage to the vehicle resulting from any accident. The maximum height of the vehicle is clearly stated in each vehicle, the hirer must ensure they are familiar with this height before travelling
Shall not carry more passengers than the seating capacity of the vehicle, as defined in the vehicle specifications or allow the vehicle to be overloaded
Shall ensure that the driver and all passengers required by law to do so shall, at all times when the vehicle is being driven, wear the seatbelts provided
Shall not use the vehicle to carry passengers or goods for hire or reward
Shall not remove the vehicle from the UK mainland without previous written consent from Home to Roam Ltd.
Breakdown & Accidents
In the event of a breakdown or accident, a recovery and repair service is provided for all our Motorhomes (details provided at commencement of hire). You are authorised to spend up to £100 on any necessary repairs and/or replacement parts, and we will reimburse you only on production of a valid receipt. Any repair above £100 will have to be authorised by Home to Roam Ltd. Any breakdown, malfunction or damage caused by your negligence such as flat batteries, damaged wing mirrors or kerb damaged tyres/wheels must be repaired/made good at your own expense.
The Motorhome and its contents remain the property of Home to Roam Ltd at all times. It is the hirers responsibility to ensure the vehicle is securely locked at all times when it is left unattended and as far as is reasonably practical ensure that the vehicle is parked in a safe location, in the event of vehicle theft the police must be made aware immediately, all Home to Roam Ltd vehicles are fitted with tracking systems and this should be communicated to the police. Details must then immediately be reported to Home to Roam Ltd including crime reference number and which police force have been informed.
Hirers are again advised to have their own holiday insurance as Home to Roam Ltd cannot be held liable for losses or costs incurred in the event of theft.
The following are strictly prohibited in our Motorhomes, Home to Roam reserves the right to retain in part or whole the refundable deposit if additional deep cleaning or repair is required upon return of the vehicle due to:
Smoking (it is against the law to smoke in our vehicles)
Home to Roam Ltd reserves the right to vary rates and conditions at any time.
Home to Roam offer free parking for your car whilst you are away. However, vehicles are left entirely at the Owner’s risk. Only one allocated parking space is provided per Motorhome hire.
All pets or animals (unless expressly agreed with Home to Roam Ltd beforehand)
The hirer acknowledges delivery of the vehicle and its contents, free from defects or damage, other than as specified by Home to Roam.
Before the commencement of hire, the hirer will be given a full walkthrough familiarisation of the vehicles controls along with full inspection of the vehicles pre hire condition.
The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as when hired, with the interior and appliances clean. Charges for excessive cleaning may be applied.
Fuel, Oil & Gas
A full tank of fuel is supplied with the vehicle at the commencement of hire and the hirer is expected to return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel.
There will be a surcharge of £50 plus the cost of fuel for any fuel shortage.
The hirer will be entirely liable for all costs incurred if an incorrect fuel type is used.
The hirer will be responsible for the regular checking of oil and water levels, and the use of the correct type of fluids.
Our vehicles are supplied with at least one full gas bottle (typically one full and one part used) Gas is included in the hire cost, however the hirer will be responsible for the cost should they require more during the hire.
Pets are welcome by prior approval along with a small fee to cover a deep clean on return of the vehicle before its next hire.
We do not have the facilities on our site to empty toilet or grey waste tanks, it is the responsibilty of the hirer to ensure that the toilet cassette and grey waste tanks are emptied before returning the vehicle. Where these tanks have not been emptied the following charges will apply for us to dispose of the contents responsibly.
Toilet cassette not emptied - £50

Excessively Dirty Cooker and hob - £25
Dirty Toilet compartment including shower - £25
Damage to Television - £250
Upholstery/ Furniture damage – Determined on inspection
It is against the law to smoke in all hire vehicles. A fixed penalty notice of £250 will be imposed if customers are found to have been smoking in our Motorhome, or a maximum fine of the full Damage Deposit could be imposed if damage is caused by smoking.
Our motorhomes can be booked for Music festivals such as T In The Park, Glastonbury or Sports events Moto X etc but this use must be declared at booking and will carry an increased deposit.
No one other than the drivers named in the proposal forms may drive the hired vehicles.
License & Identification
Hirers are required to produce three forms of identification
We will do a DVLA drivers search on all named drivers. You must provide us with the DVLA driver’s code at time of departure. To receive this code we will need a note of your National Insurance and Driving Licence Number. All named drivers must be between the ages of 25 and 70, of good health and have held a full/valid driving licence for at least three years. The licence must be clear of any endorsements, minor offences ( maximum of two) and upto 6 points are usually ok, if there are any other current endorsements special conditions may apply. Please contact Home to Roam Ltd at the earliest opportunity if you have any queries regarding endorsements. All licences required must be produced at vehicle collection. All information on the licence must match those of the details given in the hire form.
Persons with serious convictions within the last eleven years will not be permitted to drive the hire vehicles. Visitors from abroad are advised to obtain an International licence. It does not automatically disqualify you from driving if you do not meet the required criteria, but we shall need to refer you to our insurance company to check if they will offer insurance cover.
